Tech Tip # 17- Mass e-mail
I had this question twice this week: How do I e-mail all of the teachers in the high school?
If you are a district-wide administer of the e-mail system (of which there are about 12), you can login to the G-mail domain and create a group of e-mail addresses. When we first started the dunmoreschooldistrict.net domain, only these 12 administrators could send a mass e-mail to everyone. This is Google’s way of preventing spam. In the past month, Google changed this restriction. Administrators can now allow (or not allow) anyone within the domain to send a mass e-mail to the entire domain.
This morning I changed the settings on a few of the groups already created within the system. So if you want to reach one of the groups, or the whole district, you now can do that by using the group name below followed by @dunmoreschooldistrict.net:
Administration
Cff
Dunmore_school_district This will send an email to everyone.
Elemaides
Elementary
Faculty This will send an email to everyone.
Highschool
Middleschool
Podleaders
Teachers This will send an email to everyone.
Thanks,
John
